Next week marks a full month that I’ve been working from home 4x a week. Before November, I placed careful thought into what I wore each day…dressing based on weather, mood, how well my car was running and if I thought I’d have to hike it back to Manayunk (that’s another story)! My Philly-area office isn’t the epitome of style or fashion (belee-dat!) and while I didn’t feel the need to “dress to impress,” I did dress for success. Or I tried. Nowadays, not so much. Part of it is timing… the other part is well, laziness. Here’s why:
5:15 -5:30am - wake up, scrub up, throw on something, walk dog.
6:00am - wake Little Diva up, scrub her up, do her hair
6:30am - feed Little Diva something.. anything… hell even a granola bar. My will to compromise is weak at 6:30.
7:00am - walk Little Diva to preschool, swing by my favorite cafe for caffeine and some human interaction that doesn’t involve doll babies, nap schedules or updating marketing components for the upcoming year.
7:30am to 4:30pm – alternate between thinking work, mindless work, dog walking and conference calls. Coupled with a noon jog (when I remember) the day flies by!
4:45pm - pick up Little Diva, prep dinner and playtime.
The rest of my evening consists of feeding the children (kid and dog), long walks around the neighborhood, playing dolls and talking about school/feelings/boogers/movies/upcoming activities. We also manage to escape the house to visit family, but the talk is generally the same. As much as I love fashion, I need to find a way to squeeze in time for it again!!
Normally, “real style” blogs feature the real style of these crazy beautiful models, stylists and musicians caught on the street. (Did I miss a memo? When did models become real people! Lol!) These days, I’ve been tossing on my favorite boots or leopard flats, jeans (yes, and I abhor jeans) and either a sweater or an old graphic tee and wrap sweater. Let me also mention I walk everywhere in my neighborhood… my looks must equal mugger-proof. While this is majorly comfy, it’s nowhere near anything to blog about in the fashion arena. After some careful thinking, I’m ready to get back to real world. I only need a few things Here are the things I need for my arrival.

Interesting wedges. Because honestly, I am not walking the nearly 10 blocks from home to the little one’s school in stilettos.
Feminine touches. I like ruffles. I’m not afraid to admit it.
Colored Jeans. This is one trend that I’ve been dying to try every 5-7 years it comes back around, but never summon up the courage! This may be the year! Lol
Relaxed Silhouettes. I’m all about comfort… what can I say!
Anything I should add to the list? Help me out!!
